Question 1

Accepted Answer

Antifreeze (ethylene glycol) is highly toxic to dogs and causes acute kidney failure within hours. Symptoms progress from drunken gait and vomiting to lethargy, then kidney shutdown. Rush to a 24-hour vet in PJ or Subang Jaya immediately — treatment with fomepizole or IV ethanol must begin within 3 hours of ingestion to be effective. Do NOT induce vomiting unless instructed by the vet. Expect RM 1,500–4,000 for emergency detox and ICU care.

Question 2

Accepted Answer

A cat straining but not urinating is a life-threatening emergency — this is usually a urinary blockage (FLUTD), especially in male cats.
